Ritter 8 weeks10/10/09
Yesterday, Justin and I drove to Modesto, CA to pick up our new pooch, Ritter. After 2.5 hours in the car with a short stop for food and all the puppy necessities, we made it to Ritter's foster mother's house at about 7:45pm. We were back on the road by 8:45pm.
Ritter was a great car rider. He sat calmly on Justin's lap the first half of the way home. He only whined a little in the first 1/2 hour or so. He had never been away from his 3 siblings until that point. Finally he fell quietly asleep and made it just about the whole way without an accident. Ritter got just a little car sick right at the end. Once we were at home, we took him out immediately to the back yard. He knew just what to do and peed right away. Back in the house we got some fun pictures and a video of him exploring his new area. In the end, we set up his crate with a cardboard fenced area in the atrium. He loves his bed and crate and went right to it to curl up and sleep.
He made it the whole night without an accident or any whining! This morning we took him out to the yard and again he knew just what to do.
