Thanksgiving 2011

Justin and Kim on the Navy Pier in Chicago

Justin and I got to spend the week of Thanksgiving in Chicago and Manitowoc, WI. On Monday we drove with Julie, Jay, and Mason into Chicago to see the Navy Pier, which was unfortunately all closed down.  But we did get a few pictures and it was beautiful weather.  (click on the picture above for more) Then we walked toward Michigan Ave. to have lunch at The Purple Pig. It turned out to be a great meal! Before heading to a pizza dinner with Mom, Dad, Julie, Jay, Mason, and Aunt Kathe, we walked off our lunch looking in the shops on Michigan Ave.

On Tuesday, Justin and I drove out to see Grandma Peg in her amazing new home.  She has a craft room, hairdresser, card shop, pool, restaurant, and more right in her building!  Her apartment is super nice with two bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.  What a great setup she has.  We were really happy to see Grandma, get a tour the place, and have lunch with her.

The rest of our vacation was spent up in Manitowoc, WI where Janet, Adam, Luke, and baby Imp #2 live.  We're lucky Janet and Adam have a beautiful large Victorian house.  With all the people in the house, it was still spacious and comfortable!  We had a couple of yummy meals out at local restaurants and many delicious meals at home!  One day Dad, Julie, Jay, Mason, Adam, Justin, and I even went wine tasting!  Who knew that there were wineries in Wisconsin!  In addition to a traditional Thanksgiving meal, we all gathered for our Jenkin Christmas giving.  It was a great week vacation!
