Honeymoon to Greece!

Justin and Kim at winery in Santorini

Justin and I went to Greece for our honeymoon! First, we made our way to the island of Santorini. It and 3 other islands used to be (3500 years ago) a volcano. After it erupted the center collapsed and sunk into the Mediterranean. Santorini is what used to be the rim of the volcano. We had a wonderful time staying in the Tholos Resort, which is literally in the rim of the volcano looking at the caldera (center) of the volcano. We spent 2 days exploring the island on an ATV four wheeler, where we saw many wineries, white houses, and beautiful landscapes. We also spent 1 day on a catamaran cruise of the caldera, which was so relaxing and beautiful.

Sarakiniko in Milos

The second part of our trip was spent in Milos, another small island in the Cyclades Island grouping. We rented a car for a day and a half and explored the entire island. Our favorite was Sarakiniko, a beautiful beach surrounded by white rock and unbelievably blue water! There were many other beaches we visited, some rocky and some sandy, and everywhere the water was perfectly blue and clear.

The last part of our trip was in Athens. Of course our time was exploring this amazing city and all of it's history. We spent the first evening walking in the pedestrian only streets of the Plaka and had a fantastic meal at Daphne's. The next day we had a private tour of the city. We saw the Acropolis first, which is as amazing as everyone says. We moved on and saw the temple of Zeus (which also happened to be right outside our hotel), Parliment (yes we were very safe), the original modern Olympic stadium, and much more. It was one of those days were you learn a ton of information! Click on any of the pictures to see a sampling of the many pictures we took!

Thank you to Mom and Dad Munoz for making this trip possible for us!
