Clouds Rest in Yosemite NP

Justin and I planned another trip to the mountains this weekend. We invited John to come along with us. This time we left at about 2pm on Friday to miss all of the Pleasanton and Livermore traffic (thank goodness). We spent the night at Yosemite Lakes Campground, which is about 5 miles west of the west gate into Yosemite NP. We knew we wanted an early start so we were up at 4:30 in the morning and on our way by 5am. Click on the picture above and you'll see some early morning shots as the sun was rising. We managed to make it to Olmstead Point just as the sun was coming up. We were one of the first ones on the trail and as you can see we had a beautiful day. We made the summit by about 9:30, ate lunch, took some great pictures, and then headed down. Again we were parked by a lake so our tired feet and bodies got refreshed in Tenaya Lake. Another great weekend!
